Bridgestone Tech Check  – Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto’s commitment to empowering and educating Australian motorists via the Bridgestone Tech Check platform has been recognised with the prestigious Canstar Blue Most Outstanding Customer Service Award in the Car Servicing category with a perfect 5-star rating across the board.Bridgestone Select tyre centre

  • Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto wins 5-stars across the board in latest Canstar Blue ratings for car servicing.
  • Introduction of Bridgestone Tech Check is a driver of customer satisfaction, cost transparency and communication.
  • Award builds on Bridgestone’s reputation of Australia’s Most Trusted Tyre for the past decade.

Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto launched Bridgestone Tech Check earlier this year with a renewed promise to the Australian market of ‘Go with Confidence’, and motorists have confidently rated the network with five stars across all of Canstar Blue’s criteria: overall satisfaction, communication, customer service, effectiveness, value for money, cost transparency and efficiency.

According to Canstar Blue editor-in-chief, Christine Seib, Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto was a cut above the competition in the annual rankings.

“Canstar Blue sometimes describes its consumer satisfaction ratings as like asking hundreds or even thousands of friends for a recommendation, and there’s probably few services Australians are more likely to ask a recommendation on than where to get their car serviced. So being named Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers – Car Servicing Chains 2023 winner is a real achievement,” Ms Seib said.

“Bridgestone received five stars for every rating factor, including overall satisfaction, from its own customers. Importantly, not only did customers say Bridgestone’s car servicing itself was efficient and effective, Bridgestone got top marks for factors that are key to trust: customer service, communication, cost transparency and value for money. Basically, what you’d expect from a garage recommended by a really great mate!”

Bridgestone Tech Check

Bridgestone Tech Check

Bridgestone Tech Check allows customers to receive a technician’s view of their car. The technician provides a 60-second condition report of the vehicle with expert commentary, highlighting what needs repairing now, and what can wait.

The concept was launched to tackle the age old challenge of trustworthiness within the car-serving industry, and Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Heath Barclay believes the Canstar Blue award highlights the trust it is instilling in Australians.

“We set out to redefine the car servicing experience for Australians and we’re honoured to have our efforts recognised through the coveted Canstar Blue Most Outstanding Customer Service Award in the Car Servicing category,” Mr Barclay said.

“To have Australians vote Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto as the best for car servicing highlights the confidence they have in our 180 stores throughout Australia, and showcases the exceptional work of our franchisees and their technicians in ensuring every customer receives award-winning service.”

Earlier this year, Bridgestone was also named as Australia’s Most Trusted Tyre Brand for an unrivalled 10th consecutive year in the annual Reader’s Digest awards.

“Bridgestone has an unquestioned reputation for tyres, and through Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto, they can be confident they are getting the best tyres, the best customer service, and best mechanical service – and can also see it for themselves through our Bridgestone Tech Check platform,” Mr Barclay added.

What tyre should I get for my 4WD – Today we are going to chat about tyres. More specifically tyres for my own Mitsubishi Pajero

Bridgestone Dueler AT D697 LT 1

Regular listeners will know my personal car is an older Pajero that is well equipped for true 4WD adventures.

Currently we have a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T D697 LT. that went on some 10 years ago now .

Over the years they have travelled probably 55-60,000km of heavy duty off road and freeway driving.

The tread is still good but here is a little know thing about tyres. They age and become a real danger to occupants.

Tyres are made up of steel belts and rubber essentially and as the rubber gets old it cracks and frays. Just like an old pair of boots where the soles simply crumble.

Bridgestone Dueler AT D697 LT 3

You may not always see the cracks, but they are there and are extremely dangerous. This applies to all tyres on cars, trucks, motorbikes, busses etc.

Bridgestone have a really good explanation of what happens on their website. FOUND HERE

Honestly I’ve really pushed the limits of tyre safety by keeping my tyres for 10 years even though the tread is still good.

So I’m now deciding what to replace them with and that decision will be coming soon on our chats about tyres.

Specialist education provider Emerson School has been recognised for its outstanding contribution towards road safety by receiving the Bridgestone Supporting Excellence in Road Safety Education award, which was today presented at their annual RYDA program day.

Bridgestone RYDA Shoot Melbourne 30th May 2022

  • Emerson School recognised by Bridgestone for outstanding commitment to youth road safety education through long-term participation in the RYDA program.
  • RYDA continues to be a successful workshop to empower young drivers and passengers to make safer decisions on the roads.
  • Bridgestone’s ongoing support of the RYDA program and the Supporting Excellence in Road Safety Education award are demonstrations of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment.

The Bridgestone Supporting Excellence in Road Safety Education award recognises and celebrates schools that put an emphasis on incorporating the RYDA road safety education program into their annual activity and demonstrate a commitment to driving road safety throughout the year with students.

Emerson School caters to students with mild intellectual difficulties and prides itself on supporting students to meet their potential. The school believes road safety is integral to its objectives and has been a highly engaged and active participant of the RYDA program, provided by Road Safety Education Ltd, since 2012.

Beyond their outstanding commitment to RYDA, Emerson School has integrated road safety into the general curriculum and has dedicated staff members teaching road safety to students.

“At Emerson School, we believe in the individual and helping them to achieve in all aspects of life. Road Safety Education is a key area to help our students to gain independence, employment and above all the ability to make safe decisions on and around our roads. We want to them to be safe drivers, passengers and pedestrians,” explained Travel and Road Safety Coordinator at Emerson School, Christine Marlow.

“Our program includes learning the road rules, using public transport and some basic driving skills. Programs like RYDA help to reinforce the safety message we are teaching and has become a prominent part of the school’s graduate’s calendar. For many of our students, the road safety program has been the support they have needed to gain their L plates and P plates.”

Bridgestone RYDA Shoot Melbourne 30th May 2022

According to Head of Marketing and Program Delivery at Road Safety Education, John Elliott, Emerson Schools’ ongoing support of the program is even more significant for the school’s student base.

“A core pillar of the RYDA program is educating and empowering young drivers, soon to be drivers and passengers to make smart decisions on the road so that others survive – especially the more vulnerable members of society,” Mr Elliott explained.

“We’re thrilled that Emerson School places such a significance on arming their students with the knowledge and strategies to identify potentially unsafe behaviours on the road and empowering them to speak up and drive positive outcomes.”

Road Safety Education provides nearly 400 RYDA workshop days per year, reaching in excess of 685,000 students from more than 650 schools across Australia and New Zealand since its inception.

As part of the RYDA program, students take part in a workshop which features a series of sessions led by expert facilitators who address laws, distractions, risk management, social resilience, speed & stopping, peripheral vision, and other critical road safety topics.

Bridgestone has proudly supported RYDA since 2016, with the program forming one of its core partnerships within the company’s global Bridgestone E8 Commitment.

Bridgestone RYDA Shoot Melbourne 30th May 2022

The Bridgestone E8 Commitment is how the company will realise its long-term, 2050 vision of providing social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company through the values of: energy, ecology, efficiency, extension, economy, emotion, ease and empowerment.

“The RYDA program sets the benchmark for education and empowerment in road safety, and that’s why Bridgestone passionately supports this initiative,” explained Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Heath Barclay.

“Alongside the providers of RYDA, Road Safety Education Ltd, we believe it’s important to recognise those who place as much importance on education and empowerment in this area as us, and we’re delighted to recognise Emerson School’s incredible contribution to road safety through education.”

Within the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, the company’s ongoing support of the RYDA program is driven by the values of empowerment, the commitment to contributing to a society that ensures accessibility and dignity for all, ease, bringing comfort and peace of mind to mobility, and extension, the commitment to nonstop mobility and innovation.

“Bridgestone places a significant emphasis on fostering safer roads as part of our global long-term vision of being a sustainable solutions provider, and on a local level, RYDA is helping us realise that vision through delivering effective education to the next generation of road users,” Mr Barclay added.

The recent release of the NanoEnergy Van tyre by Toyo Tires heralds a major redesign of premium tyre options, specifically for owners of vans, utes, people movers, motorhomes, caravans and trailers. The recent release of the NanoEnergy Van tyre by Toyo Tires heralds a major redesign of premium tyre options, specifically for owners of vans, utes, people movers, motorhomes, caravans and trailers.

Toyo Tires is one of the world’s leading Japanese tyre makers, and the new NanoEnergy Van tyre builds on the reputation of its predecessor, the Toyo HO8, as the ideal tyre for light-commercial vehicle use.

The new premium light-commercial tyre can achieve an impressively long service life with lower fuel consumption, reducing rolling-resistance by 29 per cent¹ to minimise lifetime running costs of professional van and 4×2 ute vehicle operators.

In addition to reduced running costs, the new NanoEnergy Van tyre brings modern handlings to a category renowned for poor ride quality and compromised traction.

“We are seeing a reduction in rolling resistance of 29 per cent¹, better fuel economy and an improvement in wet weather braking and stopping by a further 10 per cent¹ in the new NanoEnergy van tyre,” said Steve Burke, technical product manager for Toyo Tires Australia.

The recent release of the NanoEnergy Van tyre by Toyo Tires heralds a major redesign of premium tyre options, specifically for owners of vans, utes, people movers, motorhomes, caravans and trailers.

“The wider shoulder rib and double zig-zag groove in the tread design uses Toyo’s latest technologies to minimise flexing and tread-block movement, ensuring more even contact distribution, better steering and braking, all for improved driver safety,” he added.

Prior to its release in Australia, the NanoEnergy Van was tested on Australian roads as part of the company’s Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to evaluate the tyres’ fit for purpose and performance.

Ryan McKinnon, founder and director of Buffalo Freight Management, participated in the early Australian trials of the NanoEnergy Van tyre and was impressed by the gains in safety and performance reported by his drivers.

“Our drivers have commented on the noticeable improvements in handling and wet-weather grip, quieter noise levels and the reduction in fuel consumption with reports of fuel economy improvement by 0.5L/100km,” said Ryan McKinnon.

“In our own evaluation using two of our Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, the NanoEnergy Van tyre is projecting a life of 140,000kms, an improvement of over 20,000km when compared to the operating durability and longevity with the previous brand of tyre,” Ryan McKinnon said.

“While a lesser known budget tyre brand may have a lower initial purchase price, the actual cost to the vehicle operator through its service life is usually substantially higher, not to mention the lower standards in driver safety it can bring,” said Steve Burke.

The recent release of the NanoEnergy Van tyre by Toyo Tires heralds a major redesign of premium tyre options, specifically for owners of vans, utes, people movers, motorhomes, caravans and trailers.

“There are considerable cost benefits in fitting better known premium replacement tyres, like the NanoEnergy Van, when it comes to improving overall operating costs,” Steve added.

The new NanoEnergy Van also provides an alternative fitment for motorhomes, caravans and trailers, delivering durability, safety and strong value-for-money to adventurous Australians who mostly stick to sealed roads in their travels.

Toyo’s premium light-commercial tyre is now available in 21 different sizes that cover 14 to 17-inch rims with speed and load ratings to suit most major tyre requirements in Australia.

The Ziex CT60 is specifically designed for the SUV and CUV vehicle segments. Designing a tyre for SUVs posed different engineering requirements compared to developing tyres for passenger car or 4WD vehicles.

The Ziex CT60 compensates for the higher centre of gravity of SUVs with wide outside shoulder ribs for improved handling and stability. Using a regular passenger car-based or 4WD tyre would deliver compromised handling and performance.

The Ziex CT60 is specifically designed for the SUV and CUV vehicle segments. Designing a tyre for SUVs posed different engineering requirements compared to developing tyres for passenger car or 4WD vehicles.

Furthermore, many 4WD vehicles possess a body-on-chassis construction (ladder frame), as opposed to the SUV’s monocoque (unibody) chassis. A unibody construction vehicle makes for improved on-road handling, but has increased sensitivity to road noise, vibration and ride harshness (NVH). The Ziex CT60 was engineered to address these issues with an Asymmetric Tread Pattern, SUV Specific Design and 3D Canyon Sipes, which interlock the shoulder blocks to resist wear under load.

Falken has performed strenuous testing of the tyre in Australian conditions over the past years – from the red dusty roads of the outback to urban city streets – all of which have led to glowing testimonials.

Amongst internal testing the Ziex CT60 performed exceptionally well across wet weather braking, dry braking and wear life. The Four Wide Circumferential Grooves quickly evacuates water from the tread pattern, whilst the Dynamic Contact Patch and 4D Nano Design Technology allows for improved wear life and enhanced braking in all conditions.

all weather tyres

When the winter is over, most drivers, unsure what the coming season may bring, are very close to Hamlet’s dilemma. Instead of pondering a state of being versus a state of not being, they are calculating whether it’s best to buy a new set of tyres or not. Full of doubt, they talk with neighbors and read online forums to answer their nagging question: to change or not to change?

Some say: as we don’t wear sandals in the winter, in the summer we shouldn’t drive on winter tyres. There’s a lot of truth in it since different types of tyres are characterized by various tread patterns and perform differently depending on the surface.

In this article, we will answer some of the most common questions about changing tyres. Please visit the website mycarneedsthis.com for more information on how to take care of your car.

Why do you need season dedicated tyres on your wheels?

At least for several reasons. First of all, summer tires differ from winter ones in the composition of the mixture. Winter tyres remain flexible even at very low temperatures. However, at high summer temperatures, they become too soft and are more susceptible to damage. Winter tyres also differ from summer ones in terms of the tread pattern. They have a tread compound design to work in cold temperatures and can provide traction at below freezing. The tread pattern is a little bit deeper and more broken up with more cuts and so-called fins. This design allows the tyre to maintain traction in winter conditions, but in summer conditions, it can notably reduce its efficiency. Anywhere where you see a regular snowfall, a dedicated winter tyre will provide you significantly better traction in the snow and on the ice that summer ones and even the best all-season tires can do.

Summer tyres are going to perform best either when it’s dry or wet outside. New tires with sufficiently deep tread can drain water from under the wheels, and their rigid structure means that they provide good traction even in the heat.

All-season tyres – is it a game worth playing?

The general rule is that it depends where you drive most. If most often on the roads in the city, all-season tyres may be suited for you. But the matter can be complicated. Sometimes in the autumn-winter time we drive on all possible surfaces: in the rain, on damp asphalt, on a dry road with excellent grip, snow, and ice. Therefore, the differences between all-season and winter tires are becoming blurred. With current tyre technology and capricious climate, not everyone has to change tyres twice a year.

You need to look at your car journeys. If you drive a lot, then two sets of tires have an economic sense – they will last for twice as long. Still, if you drive not too much – two sets will grow old sooner than they will wear off on the street.

When should I change my tyres?

There is no one rule on when to change tyres. There is also no magic date in the calendar to be observed. The weather can be extremely inconsistent. Sometimes the winter weather lasts until March or even April. Other times, at the end of February, thermometers show temperatures much above zero. It has been accepted, however, and it is worth sticking to that summer tyres are best when the average daily outside temperature is above 7 degrees Celsius. Just make sure that the temperature persists for one week or two.

Another factor determining to change is the tyre wear. Remember that tire wear has a significant impact on driving safety, i.e., for traction and braking distance. The shallow tread is more likely to cause trouble controlling your car. This is especially important in wet conditions, where tyre wear may affect the phenomenon of aquaplaning. In this situation, the tread is not able to drain water from under the wheels. Then, between the wheels and the surface of the road, a layer of water is formed. It results in a car losing traction and begins to slip uncontrollably.

Summary

We need to consider a lot of factors before deciding whether we need to change our tires or if all-season ones are our perfect match. The matter is highly individual and requires the driver’s involvement in tracking his driving habits. However, it is worth remembering that if we are owners of two sets of tyres, those stored in bad conditions lose their properties, and I can even cause irreversible changes, excluding tyres from further use. Let’s keep tyres in a shaded place, and regardless of whether we change them seasonally or not, visit the workshop so that a specialist assesses their condition every year.

Project Pajero Bridgestone Dueler AT D697 LT tyres 2

All Terrain (AT) tyres are a compromise, as are all tyres. These are the most popular tyres for 4WD vehicles because they provide the ruggedness required for general off road duties, while providing acceptable daily use qualities for the normal black top driving.

Even within the AT designation, there are tyres that are aimed at more road use and occasional forays off road and those that are more focused on the off road use. However the selection is huge and to assist your buying decision here is a selection of the best. Not in any particular order:

BF Goodridge AT 1

BF Goodridge AT T/A KO2

Popular for years amongst the towing fraternity, this tyre is perhaps the definition of the AT tyre. It has an open tread pattern with deep sidewall lugs for extra traction when needed in harsh off road conditions, yet provides a compliant ride on tar surfaces.

BF Goodridge AT 2

Tough, durable and I have used these previously and driven them on a mix of normal driving, heavy duty rock trails, beach and snow driving and they never let me down. With good tyre management expect 80,000km plus of faithful service.

They come in 50 sizes ranging from 15 inch through to 20 inch tyres.

Bridgestone-Dueler-AT-697 1

Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 LT

Another personal favourite, used on a trip to the Flinders Ranges through Oodnadatta track, Birdsville and Strzelecki Desert previously. These tyres provide a quieter ride on road than most other AT tyres, yet have enough open tread and robustness for outback travel on the roughest roads. Great for towing as well.

Even over the harsh stony desert tracks there was virtually no cutting or chipping of the tread while providing excellent traction. Again, expect over 80,000km of mixed driving with good tyre management.

Project Pajero Bridgestone Dueler AT D697 LT tyres 2

The key feature is the smooth ride and quietness on road. Very compliant, yet robust and puncture resistant. Available in over 40 sizes ranging from 15-18 inches.

Yokohama Geolandar-A-T-G015 1

Yokohama Geolandar AT G015

Aimed more at the predominantly road based user, who ventures off road for lifestyle rather than more adventurous 4WD driving. The Geolandar AT G015 provides impressive on road traction and surprising all terrain capability.

Yokohama Geolandar-A-T-G015 1

Often fitted to SUVs, 4WDs and Utes, the Geolandar A/T is suitable for drivers requiring durability, long tread life, off road traction, on road handling, low noise and a comfortable ride. It is well suited to towing as well.

Available I over 50 sizes ranging from 15-20 inches.

Cooper Discoverer AT 1

Cooper all-terrain AT 3LT™

Cooper tyres are a favourite of the 4WD fraternity and have a wide range of tyres to choose from. They, perhaps, more than many other manufacturers, tend to tailor the tyre to use. This particular tyre is recommended for 70% Road & Sand, 30% Dirt & Mud, which seems to represent a majority of users. They also have a conditional 80,000km guarantee.

Cooper 3

The design has some clever features such as scalloped shoulders that provide better soft surface traction without compromising on road traction and rock ledges within the grooves to minimise rocks getting stuck.

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 2

Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ P3

Previously a brand associated with rugged desert rallies or mud terrains, the latest AT tyres are designed for a 50% Road & Sand, 50% Dirt & Mud use pattern. I haven’t used these personally but know many 4WD owners that do and regularly get 80 – 100,000km out of their tyres.

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 1

Designed more for dirt roads and stony tracks where the clever features in the tread dramatically reduce the chipping and cutting of the rubber and minimise rock retention. They are slightly noisier on road than say the Yokohama bt more durable in rougher off road situations.

Available in over 25 sizes from 15-20 inches, this tyre crosses between being an all-terrain and a mud-terrain tyre.

Driving control and safety at high speeds are also significantly improved. The innovative DTM-inspired three-layer block design with its special staircase arrangement of the outer rib blocks, provides an improved tyre contact area as tyre wear progresses, thereby guaranteeing more effective traction performance across the entire life cycle of the tyre.

The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV is equipped with the newest generation of highly developed silica compound with an optimised cross-linking system that improves wet traction, wear characteristics and thermal ageing resistance. The high traction styrene polymer formula enables improved wet performance while rolling resistance is reduced for maximized environmental excellence. A refined cooling system with surface enlarging fins anchored to the base of the tread grooves and micro-turbulence generating dimples arranged on the outer edges of the shoulder block enable faster heat dissipation for more stable handling characteristics and longer tyre durability. In order to make the driving experience even more comfortable, the new Hankook Tire’s UHP flagship is equipped with a particularly aerodynamic sidewall that further reduces tyre noise and also highlights the sports-look of the tyre. The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV is manufactured predominantly in the company’s state-of-the-art Hungary factory.

Let’s talk tyres. Outback travel is hard on tyres and the trip we undertook for Project Pajero through the Flinders Ranges, Birdsville track, Strzelecki Track, Cameron Corner etc required a lot of thought about the choice we made for tyres.

Having travelled many thousands of kilometres, probably up to 100,000km, in outback travel I realise just how important tyres are to a fuss free trip. If you think about it unless you travel in only one type of driving all tyres are a compromise of some sort. For example mud tyres while awesome in the sloppy stuff are diabolical on tar.

Road going tyres are quiet on tar and handle well but are next to useless off road, especially in the wet. The most popular and practical tyres for outback travel, as opposed to constant 4WDing, are all terrain tyres.

By their very nature All Terrains are the definition of compromise. The qualities you are looking for are

• acceptable handling and quietness on tar roads. All Terrains ‘sing’ on the tar roads, not as much as mud terrain tyres but enough to be noticeable
• An open enough tread pattern and large enough side lugs for grip in the rough stuff
• Minimal cutting or chipping on the tread in the rocky sections and
• Resistance to puncturing everywhere and long wearing.

Not much to ask for really is it? There are a plethora of choices available, not only between manufacturers but also within manufacturers. Each has their own qualities and lie somewhere on the continuum between mud terrains and road tyres.

All terrain tyres aren’t cheap and often you will take a second spare. So choose the wrong ones and you will live their shortcomings for a while. Let’s talk about the type of pressures (no pun intended) that our tyres faced on our recent trip.

The Project Pajero trip was about 6000km of a mix of roads and surfaces. There was plenty of highway driving to get to the fun stuff. In the Flinders Ranges there was a mix of dirt roads, farm tracks, muddy patches and very rocky tracks though some of the gorges.

The road to Marree was a mix of tar and dirt. The infamous Birdsville Track was in parts a graded dirt highway and in parts heavily corrugated dirt. The Inside Track ranged from the harsh Gibber Plains with the sharp and intrusive ironstone rocks, corrugated sandy sections, clay pans, river bed and dirt tracks.

The Simpson Desert and Big Red required letting the tyres down to 10psi to successfully climb the dunes and play in the sand. We spent 4-5 hours playing in the hot conditions with the tyres belly up. As soon as we came off the sand we had a chance to admire the beauty of the surrounding area as we pumped the tyres up to road pressures before we returned to the track leading in.

The Birdsville Development road was a graded super highway where we sat on 120kmh on the dirt. Turn off to Cordillo Downs track and while the grader had been through and the road was in reasonable condition, there were heavily corrugated rocky sections that punished the tyres. The rocks on the Cordillo Downs track need to be seen to be believed, they are big, lose and sharp.

The road into the Dig Tree site and the last 16km or so from the SA border to Innamincka were some of the worst roads I have ever driven on. The condition of these was horrible. Corrugated, potholes, rutted, sharp stones buried ready to slice tyres and lose stones ready to cut them up. It was here where I smashed my back windscreen on the Pajero. Having travelled about 100,000km in outback travel I have never lost a piece of glass before.

It’s amazing what you can do with gaffer tape. the repaired rear windscreen lasted until we got back to Sydney.
The Strzelecki Track and Old Strzelecki tracks were a mix of graded roads for the gas fields, corrugated sandy wheel ruts with loose sand hiding sharp sticks and some reasonable wide roads. From there through Cameron Corner there was red sandy loam and from Broken Hill back on the tar roads.

So given that mix of road conditions the choice of tyres is pretty important. Our choice of tyres. Bridgestone Dueler A/T D697 LT. Overall we had 2 vehicles and 2 camper trailers. So there was 12 tyres on the road carrying hefty weight and a number of spares. All up there were 18 tyres.

The verdict. The tyres performed faultlessly over the entire trip. They were quieter on the tar roads than previous all terrains we have used. They had enough of an open tread to provide grip in the rough tracks especially through the Flinders Ranges , the gorges and in the wet river beds and while they don’t have as much side lugs as others they were more than adequate.

On the stony sections they survived without any chipping or punctures that we could see and easily performed their duties in the sand for hours without overheating.

We inspected the tyres on return and there was minimal wear, almost no evidence of gouging or chipping off the tread and in general terms you would be hard pressed to imagine they had just returned from 6000 km of outback touring.

To say we are exceptionally happy with our choice of Bridgestone Dueler A/T D697 LT is an understatement. I have to say we were expecting more damage or wear after the trip. The tyres are now seeing mainly tar road use with weekend excursions to the farm. The Bridgestone Dueler A/T D697 LT tyres have done everything we have asked of them without fault or problem. They are one tough tyre!
