Mitsubishi announces fresh new look for 2017 ASX

2017-mitsubishi-asx- Mitsubishi Motors Australia is celebrating the arrival of the new-look ASX small SUV, which adopts Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield styling for 2017.

The updated ASX, which goes on sale around Australia today, will boast a number of upgrades to exterior and interior styling and overall functionality.

Connecting it to its larger SUV siblings, Outlander and Pajero Sport, the ASX will feature the company’s unique Dynamic Shield design language from 2017 with gloss black and chrome finishes added to the new-shape front bumper and grille.

A new shark fin antenna will add to ASX’s more streamlined look.

Inside, rear seat comfort is improved with additional seat base bolstering on all models while the LS gain new high-grade fabric seat trim with red stitching.  Electric heated seat switches on XLS models are relocated to the instrument panel for greater convenience.

A number of functional improvements have been made to the MMCS audio menu structure and graphics to make it quicker and easier to locate the system’s features and pair a mobile phone.

Combination style front fog lamps will replace the daytime running lamps and the key fob design on LS is given a makeover for 2017.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Executive Director of Marketing Tony Principe said the ASX established a new benchmark for the small SUV segment when it arrived in 2010, and continues to evolve with market trends.

“ASX is our number one-selling SUV, and for good reason – it hits all the right markers for small SUV buyers with an abundance of style, features and great packaging,” he said.

“The new, Dynamic Shield 2017 ASX will make a bold statement with plenty of youthful appeal and new features to help it remain one of Australia’s most popular small SUVs.”

ASX has a comprehensive safety package to give it a five-star ANCAP safety rating, including seven airbags, reversing sensors and camera and RISE Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution safety cell body construction.

The 2017 ASX will start from $25,000 recommended retail and will go on sale around Australia on 16 November 2016.
