What makes the Silverado 1500 good for towing and off road.

The new MY23 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offering significant enhancements inside the freshly restyled cabin environment, advancements in exterior aesthetics and the introduction of the first-ever ZR2.

MY23 Updates

The exterior of the new MY23 features a redesigned front-fascia complete with new daytime running lights.  But, the biggest and most immediate change is an entirely new interior.

“The inside of the Silverado has been fully redesigned and features a sweeping horizontal instrument panel that makes the cabin feel more spacious and gives it a premium feel,” said Mr Rowe.

This includes a 13.4-inch-diagonal colour touchscreen and new 12.3-inch-diagonal configurable digital instrument cluster and the introduction of an electronic transmission shift control now located on the centre console.

Both the LTZ Premium and the ZR2 feature the 6.2-litre EcoTech3 V8 engine, the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class with 313kW of power and 624Nm of torque. (VFACTS “Pick-Up/CC > $100K” segment)

When towing, the 10-speed automatic transmission provides seamless and smooth transitions from gear to gear.

Safety is at the forefront in the MY23 truck, with both models offering a comprehensive suite of active and passive advanced safety technology and driver assistance features.^^

Some of these standard features include Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control and Forward Collision Alert with Low-Speed Automatic Emergency Braking.

The MY23 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium and ZR2 will be available in nine different exterior colours.

In Australia, the MY23 Silverado LTZ Premium has a recommended retail price of $128,000 and the Silverado ZR2 is available from $133,000*.

ZR2 Suspension Package with High-Performance Lifted Suspension and Multimatic DSSV™ dampers

The DSSV dampers can help increase maximum front- and rear-suspension travel by using three separate spool valves to control damping and three connected chambers for fluid flow.

Front and Rear Electronic Locking Differentials (E-Lockers)

Can be engaged for additional traction when driving in off-road situations such as mud, snow, steep hills, and uneven terrain, providing maximum traction in all terrains with minimal effort.

Two-speed transfer case with push button controls

With Four-Low for low-speed off-road capabilities.

Drive Modes, including Terrain Mode, with ‘One Pedal Driving’ experience

Allows for precise control through the use of the accelerator pedal and braking to handle tough terrain.  The Silverado ZR2 can be brought to a complete stop by simply lifting off the accelerator pedal.

Front Grille-Mounted Camera

Under-truck front image displayed on the interior screen, which helps to see rocks, debris, and obstacles along the trail.  It includes a water-repellent coating and a washer to help keep clean off-road.

33-inch tyres

Unique aluminium skid plates allow for optimised off-road capability.

Innovative Bumper and exhaust placement

The bumper is designed with removable end caps for easier replacement in the event of close encounters with rocks or other off-road objects.  The dual exhaust has been placed before the rear bumper to eliminate potential damage.
