The improvements are designed to deliver greater capability and versatility. They will now be applied across all models — petrol, hybrid, and diesel. Ensuring the full range benefits from these latest technical advancements.

Diesel now accounts for 60% of monthly sales. Key mechanical improvements to the petrol and hybrid variants will be introduced. Resulting in greater towing capacity and increased payload.

The company will now offer petrol and hybrid models with an increased maximum braked towing capacity of 3,000 kg, up from the previous 2,500 kg. Extending further key improvements, the engineers have raised payload capacity across the range to a minimum of 600 kg, further enhancing practicality and versatility for Australian drivers.

20 engineering enhancements

To support the increased towing performance and payload, more than 20 engineering enhancements have been made to increase durability, performance and driveability. These include items such as:

  • Larger front brakes and calipers
  • Strengthened front knuckles
  • Upgraded wheel bearings
  • Reinforced prop shaft

“These important updates reflect our global teams growing understanding of the Australian market, where towing capability and payload remains a key consideration for buyers in this segment”, said Steve Maciver, GWM’s Head of Marketing & Communications.

Aligned to these vehicle improvements, GWM will streamline the Tank 300 range from six to four variants. GWM will discontinue the Tank 300 Lux grade, in both petrol and hybrid configurations, to align with a shift of customer preference towards diesel.

Also GWM is pleased to offer these upgrades at no extra cost, while it keeps pricing across the full Tank 300 range unchanged.

GWM backs all Tank 300 models with a 7-year/unlimited KM new car warranty, 7-year roadside assistance with 24/7 support, and 7-year Capped Price Servicing — all backed by GWM’s extensive network of 114 dealerships nationwide.
