“The Caddy Beach is a return to our roots – an inexpensive and fun campervan much like the original Kombi,” Mr Davies said.

“The Caddy Beach will forge the same sort of connection with customers, whether they’re doing the school run, heading away for the weekend or going around Australia.”

Building on the long-wheel-based Caddy Maxi Trendline, the Caddy Beach packs a lot of lifestyle into relatively compact dimensions (4.87m long, 1.8m high and wide).

With five folding seats and generous interior space, the Caddy Beach serves as a city car Monday to Friday. Come the weekend it gets you on the road without the need to tow (although you can option a towbar).

And it gets you where you need to go easily, with its 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine with start-stop producing 92kW/220Nm via 7-speed DSG capable of achieving 6L/100km.

The Caddy Beach is equipped with advanced safety technology such as autonomous braking (Front Assist and City Emergency Brake), Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist and fog lights with cornering functionality. Indeed, the Caddy Beach has more standard safety equipment than some family cars from other brands that are commonly used for towing.

Darker elements like black roof rails, tinted rear tail-lamps and tinted passenger windows create a stylish contrast with the paint finish, which is available in seven colours including a vibrant Sandstorm Yellow or Viper Green.
